Prayer brings God into the situation with commanding force.
" ask me of things to come concerning my sons," Says God , "and concerning the work of my hands command ye me" ( Isaiah. 45: 11 ).
We are charged in God's Word: "Pray without ceasing" ( 1Thessalonians 5:17 ).
In every thing by Prayer ( Philippians.4 :6 ).
Continuing instant in Prayer ( Romans. 12 : 12 ).
Pray every where (1Timothy 2 : 8).
Praying always ( Colossians 1 : 3 ).
The promise is as unlimited as the command is comprehensive.
All things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive ( Matthew 21 : 22 )
Jesus Said Whatsoever ye shall ask . (John 14: 13 )
If ye shall ask any thing. (John 14:14 )
Whatsoever ye shall ask the father ... he will give it you. ( John 16:23 )
The effect of prayer reaches and secures good things from regions that cannot be covered by language or thought.
Paul covered these regions by this plea:
"unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us" (Ephesians. 3:20 ).
The Promise is " Call unto me and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not" (Jeremiah. 33 : 3 ) |
